Surrounded mostly by cattle farms and CRP ground planted in fescue, Hungry Mother Farm's 800 acres devoted to corn, soybeans, and alfalfa production is a magnet for deer. As you can see on the map the open fields are small and irregular, and are broken up by water ways, brushy draws, and patches of timber. We also plant about 100 acres of permanent food plots on the farm each year to hold deer in areas of heavy cover and to get them through the winter in good condition.
BOONESLICK FARM
380 Acres
Booneslick Farm is located about 12 miles west of the Hungry Mother Farm as the crow flies; a bit farther by road. It is between State Highways 5 and 87 about three miles southeast of the village of Boonsboro, Missouri.
Booneslick Farm has 200 acres of CRP ground which is covered in grass, brush, and native plants and 180 acres of timber, cedar thickets, brush, and creek bottom. Every year we plant food plots in key locations on the property to attract and hold deer.
