FAQ
Do I need to bring my own gun(s) for hunting?
Yes. Hungry Mother Farm does not provide guns, ammunition, gun accessories, or personal gear such as clothing, boots, safety harnesses, etc.
Can I bring my hunting dog?
Our lodge is a “dog free zone” and dogs may not be used to hunt deer or turkey in Missouri. When we begin quail and pheasant hunting in the fall of 2008 we will have clean, comfortable kennels available for our guests' bird dogs.
What about my adorable pet cat?
No cats.
Is there an archery range? Do I need to bring my own archery tackle?
There is. (pictured on The Lodge page) Bring your own tackle. We do not supply any archery equipment other than targets for warming up, checking sights, and practice.
Can I book my hunt online?
No. You can, however, request information on line and we will respond within 48 hours. Our experience tells us that people have lots of questions when booking a hunt, and the telephone is the best way to answer them.
What about bedding and towels?
Hungry Mother Farm supplies sheets, pillows, comforters, towels, and wash cloths.
Is alcohol permitted on the premises?
Yes it is. However, drinking while hunting is both illegal and against our rules. Once the guns or bows are safely put away and you're through hunting for the day you are more than welcome to have an “adult beverage”. Legal drinking age in Missouri is 21.
I just want to come out and enjoy the open land. Maybe fish a little. Is this allowed? How much would this cost?
Non-shooting guests are welcome. Meals and lodging are $100 a day if space is available. Shooting guests have priority.
